Huck Johnson was born and raised in the lion-roaming fields of South Africa . When I say South Africa , I mean Traverse City , Michigan . His first word was “jet.” His years of football expertise paved the way to pancaking people and strengthening his hands, for years later he took up the glockenspiel, and when I say glockenspiel, I mean the upright bass. He’s a big, lean, mean bass-playing machine. He’s played with millions of people, but now if I remember correctly, he’s played with Cash O’Riley, Wayne Hancock and the Downright Daddies, Chris Barron of The Spin Doctors, The Demolition String Band, and his present gig with Bo Porter. Huck loves his dog Lucy, although he doesn’t mind kittens, and an occasional Heineken either. His pastimes include: Betty Page, Heineken, football, frisbie, UNO, scrapbooking, LOLing, BRBing, hugging trees, and going green. Huck plays Fender bass amps and BootHill gut strings.
